Cindy Farnham's Journey of Health and Purpose
Change can be daunting, but as Cindy Farnham shares in her conversation with Shannon Davis on Compounding Change, it is also an opportunity for growth, health, and a more fulfilling life. Cindy's inspiring journey—from a long career as a dental hygienist to a new path helping others improve their health—demonstrates the power of embracing small steps to achieve big changes.
For Cindy, the shift began when she realized that the environment she loved so much was no longer nourishing her. After 30 years in dental hygiene, she found herself at a crossroads: “My operatory where I was with my patients, that was my happy place,” she recalls. “But outside of that became a culture that I would say hurt my spirit, my soul... I was no longer valued in the way that I felt I should have been.”
Despite her love for her patients, Cindy’s health began to decline, and stress took a serious toll. “I had low energy, I wasn’t sleeping well, I had some depression and anxiety,” Cindy shares. She hit a turning point when her blood pressure soared to dangerous levels.
Determined to find a solution, Cindy embraced a whole-food nutrition approach with Juice Plus, which transformed her health. Within eight months, she was able to come off her blood pressure medication completely.
Cindy’s story is a testament to the power of taking small steps toward change. As Shannon Davis notes, “It’s all-encompassing—the health gains you got and the mental health of being in a new career where you felt valued and cherished.”
Cindy didn’t stop with her own transformation—she used her newfound energy to help others achieve similar results. “I ended up being a qualified national marketing director... and two weeks later I retired on my 30th anniversary from being a dental hygienist,” Cindy says, marking the start of a new chapter at age 50.
One of the most profound lessons from Cindy’s journey is the importance of growth. “Growth is one [thing] we need,” she explains. “I was looking to grow... I get to lead a lot of people now, and I get to lead with kindness.” Her ability to pivot careers later in life and continue helping others is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself.
Cindy’s success is a reflection of her willingness to embrace change, stay curious, and keep moving forward. As she wisely puts it, “If we always do what we’ve always done, we’re always going to get what we’ve always had.”
For Cindy, the small actions she took day by day compounded into a new life of purpose and vitality. That's what Compounding Change is all about
