I’m More Than the “Deferred Comp Lady” - Let’s Build Your Full Financial Plan

I love working with firefighters. You’re loyal, hardworking, and straight to the point - just like me. Many of you know me as “the deferred comp lady,” and I get it. I’ve shown up at your station with resources, answered your questions about your 457(b), and helped with rollover paperwork and retirement timelines. I’m proud of that.
But I want to be honest about something: I want to do more for you.

I’m not just someone who manages your deferred comp account. I’m a financial advisor. A planner. Someone who helps you look at your entire financial life - retirement income, family goals, risks, estate planning, and more - and build a plan that truly works for you now, and decades into the future.
And sometimes, I feel a little boxed in.
I’m often asked to provide a second opinion or to check over a retirement scenario you’ve already discussed with someone else. While I’m always happy to help, I want you to know I’m not just a sounding board. Although I can assist piece by piece, ultimately, I’m someone who can walk with you through the full planning process - start to finish.
“A good financial plan is a road map that shows us exactly how the choices we make today will affect our future.” – Alexa Von Tobel
When I say I offer holistic financial planning, I mean this: we look at the full picture:
What’s coming in
What’s going out
What risks could derail your plan
What opportunities might be missed
And most importantly - what matters most to you and your family
It’s not just about investments or numbers. It’s about peace of mind, clarity, and creating a life with more freedom and less financial stress.
Here’s what I help with:
Retirement income strategies
Budgeting and debt payoff
Life insurance and long-term care planning
Social Security (especially after the WEP repeal!)
Estate planning (wills, trusts, beneficiaries)
College savings plans for your kids
And yes, help for your spouse, family, or friends too
“Firefighters don’t wait until the fire is out to make a plan. They train, they prepare, they trust their team. Your financial life should be no different.”
Public safety retirement is different. You don’t pay into Social Security in your main job. You’ve got DROP. You’ve got a pension. You’ve got a lot of decisions to make; about retirement timing, income planning, and how to make sure your family is protected no matter what. That’s what I specialize in. That’s what I love helping people figure out.
If you already have a financial advisor, I completely respect that. But if they don’t know the inner workings of your pension, DROP, or 457(b), you might not be getting the full picture. That doesn’t mean they’re doing something wrong, it just means I may be a better fit for this season of your life.
“You wouldn’t go to a general practitioner for a fire-related injury, you’d go to a burn specialist. Same goes for your financial plan. Specialized knowledge matters.”
This isn’t just about dollars and spreadsheets, it’s about building a relationship. I want to be the person you call when something big changes. The one who understands your benefits, your values, and the life you want to build for your family.
If we’ve only talked briefly, or if you’ve only known me as the deferred comp lady; I hope you’ll consider taking the next step. I want to be your advisor. Not just someone you check in with occasionally - but a trusted partner you count on for years to come.
You protect everyone else - let me help protect your future.
