Insights from the Compounding Change Podcast
Life’s journey often brings us face-to-face with pivotal moments that challenge our values and force us to make difficult decisions. Jenna Stoliker, founder of the Center for Leap Conscious Leadership, shared her personal story and insights on emotional intelligence, resilience, and leadership during an episode of Compounding Change with me, your host Shannon Davis.
Jenna’s journey to becoming a leadership coach began with her own personal challenges, particularly a difficult marriage that forced her to reevaluate her life trajectory. As she reflected, she shared:
"I realized the values that were my values I could understand as my full core values versus my acquired values were so drastically different."
She went on to explain that staying in the marriage was no longer an option, and leaving it allowed her to reassess how to live a life true to her beliefs and well-being.
I touched on the difficulty of applying professional principles to personal life. In Jenna's case, these principles became a guiding force: “I had some really phenomenal role models in my personal and work life, and I really did start to believe that I could do more.”
One major factor in Jenna’s recovery, both emotionally and financially, was her practice of paying herself first, both spiritually and financially. She emphasized the importance of building daily habits, sharing: “I wrote down mantras and said them over and over again... I continued to read it every day for as long as it took until I felt like I had embodied it.”
This concept of compounding positive change aligns with the core theme of the podcast.
I noted, “That includes daily changes. You’ve adopted several daily practices, affirmations, reframing your story. How have those practices impacted your emotional health?”
Jenna’s response highlights the power of small actions that add up over time. "Mindfulness in many different ways showed up in my life."
Jenna's story is a powerful reminder that even in our most challenging moments, we have the power to rebuild and realign our lives with our values. By focusing on personal growth and resilience, we can create the life we deserve, one step at a time.
